Global Entertainment Company – UK HQ

THE BRIEF

Voted one of the world’s most innovative companies for music, this iconic brand is located in London’s equally iconic Soho Square. This global company has created a unique workspace that includes plenty of high-tech kit, a lab, a theatre, and a client suite. The complete fit-out was delivered by our partners, a Fit-Out Company.

The brief was high-spec and design-led, with attention to detail in every area. Within the building, there are many different spaces, each with a unique style and purpose (some with period features) and it was important to address this by enhancing each space individually and sympathetically, whilst complimenting the brass theme running through the whole interior.

THE SOLUTION

This beautiful building has space for many different activities; there is a client suite, meeting rooms, state-of-the-art offices, kitchens, and collaboration spaces. Our approach was to make the most of the different styles and period features by using a wide variety of plant styles to enhance each area, in keeping with the design and style of the space.

A bespoke moss-and-cork feature wall makes an impact in the quiet room. In the adjoining library room, we added another style of moss art. Strelitzia in retro black containers with brass legs adds flourish and a touch of luxury whilst complimenting the brass theme running through the interior.

The agile-working offices are light and airy. Cabinets separate the banks of sit-stand desks and are topped with lush, verdant mixed planting to give privacy, improve sound absorption, and provide a sense of calm and tranquillity. Asplenium graces the windowsills, and the collaborative areas, where there are also floor-standing Monstera displays.

The building is designed around a courtyard. Due to the maximum weight loading restrictions, the requirement here was to create a pleasant view but avoid the need for maintenance. We designed the courtyard, taking inspiration from Japanese zen gardens, and used two colours of pebble dressing, natural driftwood balls and driftwood sculptures to evoke the sense of serenity.

The reception area and Lounge leading to the Lab and Screening room is brightened with several Monstera, Strelitzia and Philodendrons, with broad glossy leaves and equally sophisticated containers.

Finally, the imposing exterior of the building in this famous area of London was given classic seasonal planting, in keeping with the location and neighbourhood. Geraniums, Evergreens and Ivy for summer, will be replanted in early autumn with winter flowering plants like Cyclamen, or Winter Pansy for year-round beauty.
