the brief
AXA XL have both a strong brand and company culture and have designed a workspace with an aesthetic to match.
Their large London Headquarters has space for all colleagues and is designed to cater for all working styles and situations, with soundproof pods for video conferencing, collaboration space and relaxed seating areas for conversation.
Energy and vibrancy is the feeling in this workspace, which although a large headquarters, is far from traditional. The décor is enriched with colour and detail, artwork and interesting furnishings that are practical as well as beautiful.
the Solution
Planteria were tasked with adding planting to enhance the office space, wellbeing, and comfort of the AXA XL team, working with the furnishings and colour palette.
So much more than just an ‘office’ this workspace has many different areas, we used the planting to demarcate the breakout spaces and dress the grid palisade units, softening the hard furnishings with the mixed green planting, and increasing privacy. We used a wide variety of planting for maximum interest, including plenty of trailing specimens like Golden Pothos, Spider Plants, variegated Dracaena, Sanseverias and Aglaonemas.
We selected pots in white and neutral tones and added a few in citrus colours – mustard, lemon, and bright orange to give splashes of colour complementing the attractive soft furnishing details.
There’s no such thing as a dull moment in this workspace, ‘Living Pictures’ planted with live trailing planting bring the seating areas and corridors to life. Feature planting such as extra-large Banana Palms in bright orange planters are strategically dotted across the office floor.
Planting themes are echoed across all floors for flow and consistency in the design.
