Landmark Space – The Lighthouse

Landmark Space offers best in class co-working space, flexible private office, and club space across the UK. The latest in the Landmark portfolio is The Lighthouse at Kings Cross, conveniently located in this popular and newly regenerated part of London. As the name implies, this iconic listed building from the 1800’s has a unique feature, a Lighthouse on top of its roof terrace, which offers great views.

The Brief

The interior design of The Lighthouse uses a calming neutral palette of earthy tones with pops of colour. On the top floor, a stunning bar and roof terrace offers a natural networking space to talk, connect, and share. We were asked to add planting and greenery to bring the outside in, creating a warm, inviting environment that provides people with a relaxing and restorative space.

the Solution

The top floor featuring the lighthouse, a bar, and terrace – is perfect for entertaining clients and hosting functions. We dressed the bar area with a lush collection of quality artificial planting in troughs. We then added grand Banana Palms, Kentia Palms and Ficus Lyrata in structural pots. Out on the terrace we used colourful Cordylines with Olives, Trailing Ivy and Chamaerops Humilis.

On the ground floor, the club space has a cool and relaxing vibe, encouraging conversation and collaboration, and provides just the right type of environment to be productive. We have enhanced the calm ambience with plenty of planting to create an oasis like feel. We used a mix of low-level plants like Asplenium, Croton Petra and Calathea for their unusual leaf shapes and varied colour. We used larger plant specimens to provide additional privacy and screening. We adorned the coffee points with high-quality artificial planting for impressive effect.

Finally, within the club space we created a lovely feature using hanging planters and a mix of diverse trailing plants.
