    The Role

    Working as part of a successful team, you will be required to visit the offices of our clients, within London and the Home Counties, to maintain living plants.

    You will always be required to be of good presence; working discretely to minimise disruption and maintaining excellent customer relations with the clients.

    This position presents an excellent opportunity to work with interior planting and design in the workplace, whilst delivering great customer satisfaction.

    Experience:

    Full clean UK driving license.

    Prior experience in planting or horticulture is preferred but not essential as we will provide training, but a passion for plants is definitely necessary.

  • Installation Team Member - Full Time

    Installation Team Member – Plants

    Planteria Group has experienced a sustained period of business growth and is in a strong position, as a result, we are now hiring and would like to invite candidates to apply for the role of Installation Team Member.

    Join our existing, experienced team members in this varied and interesting physical role, to install interior and exterior plants in containers, and sometimes trees, into workplaces and buildings across the UK.  We work for corporate clients who expect a high-quality, professional service.

    The ideal candidate will need a clean driving license, be a team player, and have a good level of physical fitness.  The work can be physically demanding at times, including heavy lifting, and planting out.  You should be confident in using hand power tools and have a reasonable level of DIY skills. Knowledge of plants is not essential but could be advantageous.

    Most of our work is in the South of England but as we offer a nationwide service there will be a requirement to travel further including overnight stays, and weekend work to complete installations.

    Reporting to the Operations Director you will be based at Mill Pond Nurseries, Mill Road, Henham, CM22 6AA – Full-time, permanent contract Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

    Primary responsibility: To source and select the best products and buy at reasonable prices to generate profit for the organisation. To ensure costs are managed effectively.

    To understand the organization’s purchasing needs

    Collate current multiple orders (across functions) to create a more controlled
    ordering process

    To build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best price,
    quantities and delivery timescales

    To ensure effective dual sourcing is in place where needed minimizing risk and
    complacency with large suppliers

    To work with the Floristry Buying Specialist to ensure value for money and good
    cost management across

    Continue to creatively source higher up the chain and explore working with
    growers/manufacturers directly to remove margin

    To monitor overhead costs effectively

    To monitor stock quality and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and
    management

    Conducting customer, competitor, market and product research as needed

    Skills Required:

  • Nursery & Site Manager

    Nursery & Site Manager

    Reporting to the Operations Director you will be based at Mill Pond Nurseries, Mill Road, Henham, CM22 6AA – Full-time, permanent contract

    Primary Responsibility: Responsible for the maintenance of the nursery and the physical site at Henham (including goods in and fleet management), ensuring all processes are safe, efficient, effective and reduce waste at the site. To maintain the highest standards in the nursery and across the site, supervising nursery operations staff and working with other managers as required.

    To focus on continuous improvement so the nursery and site, are as efficient and effective as possible as the business grows.

    To implement ‘Operation Immaculate’ – A place for everything and everything in its
    place

    Responsible for all goods-in processes

    Responsible for stock control for ‘maintenance’ plants, pots and return stock
    onsite

    Coordinate and manage fleet procurement and maintenance

    Manage site grounds maintenance and cleaning and site fuel needs, liaising with
    external contractors to maintain cost-effective schedules and to monitor
    performance against agreed contracts

    Ensure all equipment, plant and machinery is maintained in a safe and good
    condition including forklift, HGV tail-lift, electrical appliances, safety harnesses and
    lanyards

    Monitor and maintain waste disposal systems and greenhouse systems (screens,
    watering pits, pumps, heating controls etc.)

    Tightly manage and control overheads within the department budget

    Plan and implement major or minor office/greenhouse works liaising with staff
    and keeping them informed

    Skills Required:

    • Planning and organising skills (including some project management skills)
    • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Good grasp of budgeting, accountancy and proven business methodology
    • Ability to maintain accurate record keeping
    • Able to prioritise and multi-task effectively

  • Design & Specification Lead

    Design & Specification Lead

    Reporting to the Sales Manager – Business Development Team, this role is based at our London Office – 34-37 Liverpool St London EC2M 7PP – Full-time role, permanent contract

    Primary Responsibility: Working with the Business Development team, lead the design and specification of planting schemes for state-of-the-art office spaces in order to win new business. Work to clearly understand a client’s brief (with help from the Sales Manager) and bring that to reality, including variables like aesthetics, costs and service levels, whilst balancing the horticultural requirements of
    plants with the aesthetic desires of the client.

    Attend client meetings with Sales Manager to discuss the project in detail and
    understand the client’s brief

    Attend internal team meetings to decide the best strategy for securing the
    projects

    Responsible for specifying planting that will match the client brief and for
    developing the written specification for the sales support team to develop into a
    visual quote

    To conduct proposal review meetings with clients and tweak specifications as
    required

    Liaison with the install/service teams to ensure a clear picture of the client’s desired
    outcomes

    To clearly communicate with other departments to ensure the final specification
    matches the client’s expectations

    Desired qualifications and skills:

    An eye for design

    Willingness to learn about all things horticultural (prior knowledge is a bonus but by no means essential)

    A positive, proactive attitude that will fit into a fast-paced, high energy team

    Commercial acumen

    A desire to win

    CAD/Design skills are a bonus but not essential

    A level or equivalent

    Experience of design work in the fit-out sector and or horticulture is a bonus

    MS Excel – excellent knowledge

    Managing Service, Installation, Floristry, Nursery, and Procurement functions your role is to lead the operations department to ensure teams are happy and effective, and all targets are met. To represent operations at a senior level in the organisation and contribute to and drive the strategic plans for the business.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Establish and execute a corporate strategy across all Ops functions to ensure the company achieves its short- and long-term objectives

    Develop and control operational budgets. To support and drive a profit focused mindset through the Ops teams developing strong commercial acumen in managers.

    Develop and implement policies, procedures and systems to ensure all functions achieve their business KPIs and objectives

    Lead the operations department, managing and coaching the team managers effectively

    Build and maintain strong relationships with all the other leaders and teams within the business and relevant stakeholders outside the business

    Ensure all compliance, health & safety and audit requirements are consistently adhered to across the department

    Online Business Development Manager

    Reporting to the Managing Director you will be based at Mill Pond Nurseries, Mill Road, Henham, CM22 6AA – Full-time, permanent contract

    Responsible for scoping, developing and growing an all-online business unit spanning these core revenue streams:

    • New online office plants packages through Planteria ‘Lite’ concept,
    • Foli8 partnering with re-seller brands,
    • Foli8 promoting through current Planteria clients,
    • (It may potentially include Christmas tree sales as well)

    It is a ‘start-up’ role where full accountability of the success of this project sits with this position.

    Primary Responsibilities 

    To initially research and scope the Planteria ‘Lite’ concept.

    Generate budgets and business plan and present to leadership team.

    Work with branding web-development agencies to launch the new concept

    Develop and grow revenue from ‘Planteria Lite’ concept exploring marketing avenues.

    To promote the Foli8 brand through re-sellers

    To maintain the Foli8 website and nurture organic traffic/ sales

    To continue outreach to subscribers through e-shots etc

    To use Foli8 to support Planteria pitches and offerings

    To promote Foli8 through discount schemes to Planteria clients

    To further develop Christmas Tree sales opportunities

    Skills Required
